20 / 10 Hour Night Rating

This course is offered to licenced pilots only.

Please note that in Canada, most helicopter pilots do not include the night rating as part of their initial pilot training courses. This is due to the fact that, in Canada, passengers are not permitted to be transported at night in a single engine helicopter. Since it is unlikely that you will fly a multi-engine helicopter until you have a significant amount of experience, the night rating is of little use to the lower experienced VFR Pilot.

Course Costs :

A) With no previous instrument time:

	15 hours Robinson R-22 			$7,650.00

	5 hours Helicopter Simulator               350.00

	Ground School 				   275.00

	Total 					$8,275.00

B) With 10 hours previous instrument time:

	10 hours R-22 			 	$5,100.00

	Ground School 				   150.00

	Total 					$5,250.00

Length of course with full-time attendance approximately 1 to 3 weeks.

Course content :

• 5 hours Helicopter simulator flight. (Course A only)
• 5 hours Rotary Wing instrument flight. (Course A only)
• 10 hours Helicopter night flying techniques.
• Introduction to ADF and VOR approach procedures.

Requirements :

• A valid Rotary Wing License is required.

Your actual course cost may be less, depending on previous instrument or night experience.
